I am a sickly middle-aged man. And I am licensee of amateur radio stations JG8NID (in Japan) and N3QF (in USA). My operator class is Amateur First-Class Radio Operator (in Japan, and this licence corresponds to HAREC as provided for in the CEPT T/R 61-02) and Amateur Extra (in USA). In addition, I have the Maritime I-Category Special Radio Operator (corresponds to Restricted Operator’s Certificate as provided for in ITU Radio Regulations), the Maritime Fourth-Class Radio Operator (corresponds to Radiotelephone Operator’s General Certificate for the Maritime Mobile Service as provided for in ITU Radio Regulations), ahe Aeronautical Service Special Radio Operator (corresponds to the restricted radiotelephone operator’s certificate as provided for in the ITU Radio Regulations and has been issued in conformity with the provisions of No. S37.30 of these Regulations), and the On-The-Ground I-Category Special Radio Operator.

I am pursuing the First-Class Technical Radio Operator for On-The-Ground Services. The exam is quite challenging for me. I am also interested in obtaing the First-Class General Radio Operator, which requires a high level of English proficiency and the ability to transmit and receive Morse telegraph at very high speed. However, I anticipate that obtaining these licenses may take several years, or possibly even longer.

To prepare for these licences, I am currently studying mathematics (not at university level, but at high school level) and continuing to practice receiving Morse telegraph.

Upon successful completion of these exams, my aspiration is to operate a amateur radio station with a homemade rig.
